Tactical Emergency Medical Services Liaison

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Tactical Emergency Medical Services (TEMS) Liaison serves as the Department’s representative on the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System (NIPAS) Emergency Services Team (EST) and is responsible for providing emergency medical care at the scene of critical incidents and preventative care and training to EST members.  The TEMS Liaison responds to EST activation requests by member agencies and attends training as required by NIPAS.

This is a part-time position with no set schedule or hours.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

 Education

  • Doctor of Medicine

Experience

  • Emergency Medicine Resident Physician
  • Have completed or be enrolled in a Tactical Medicine Fellowship

 Knowledge / Skills

  • Emergency Medical Technician
  • SWAT Basic School
  • SWAT Weapons of Mass Destruction

 

WAGE AND BENEFITS

  • $25.00 per hour

  • Candidates deemed most qualified will be invited to continue in the process
  • Candidates must successfully complete an interview and meet all requirements established by NIPAS
  • Offers of employment will be conditioned upon a successful background check with fingerprinting
  • Position expected to be filled no later than July 31st
