Animal Services

The Police Department provides services to residents when their animals go missing or are found. The department has chip readers that scan animals to see if they are micro chipped. If no chip or owner is found, the animals are taken to Golf Rose Animal Shelter where they are held for up to 10 days. If no one claims the animal, it will be put up for adoption. Because of the large amount of stray cats in the area, the Police Department no longer takes calls for lost or found cats.

While residents are not required to register animals in the village, it is recommended to fill out the animal section on the resident form so that the Department can maintain their database. The department searches their records for possible owners in the area that the animal has been located in an attempt to return the animal to its owner.

Fees:
The Department charges a fee of $50.00 per animal each time they are brought to the station and/or Golf Rose Shelter. The shelter charges their own boarding fees as well as other misc. fees if the animal does not have current shots or a microchip. These fees must be paid at the Police Station before proceeding to the shelter to pick up the animal.
