2003 Village of Barrington Hills Traffic Crash Synopsis

The following represents a synopsis of The Village of Barrington Hills traffic crash data for the calendar year 2003. Six factors were examined based on the collision data collected by the Police Department.
--The ten highest occurrence roads in the Village
--Classification of incidents
--Number of crashes by month (to reflect seasonal variations)
--The number of man hours expended per month on traffic crashes
--The number of crashes by day
--The number of crashes by time of day
Based on this information the five roads in the Village with the highest totals in 2003 were determined to be:
Route 62 - 196 reported crashes
Route 59 - 92 reported crashes
Lake Cook Road - 66 reported crashes
Route 68 - 34 reported crashes
Route 25 - 23 reported crashes

These five roads accounted for 411 of the total 580 reported crashes in the Village (71%). The top ten roads accounted for 469 of the 580 reported crashes in the Village (81%).

All of these crash reports were grouped into the intersections or areas that they occurred and reviewed with regard to seasonal, day, time and cause of the crash factors. Recommendations were made when appropriate.

No fatal crashes occurred in 2003.
