Child Safety Seat Program

The Barrington Hills Police Department is dedicated to protecting the child passengers on our roads and provides a free program to residents: Child Safety Seat Inspection Program.

The Barrington Hills Police Department has certified technicians that can assist you in installing your child passenger safety seat, show you how to install it safely and properly and explain several safety features for your child. Three Barrington Hills Police Officers, Lt Joseph Colditz, Sgt David Kann and Ofc Brian Baird are certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as Child Seat Technicians. Improperly installed child safety seats do not fully protect children from injuries and/or deaths in crashes or in sudden emergency maneuvers. It is encouraged to make an appointment to ensure a technician will be available to assist you since each technician wants to be able to devote the time to address your particular concerns and needs. Residents may call the Barrington Hills Police Department at 847-551-3006 to schedule a child safety seat inspection.

The Barrington Hills Police Department is associated with McHenry County Safe Kids, an organization dedicated to the safety and protection of children.
